GRAINES DE PAIX LOGO

Extremely proud of the project we did with Graines de Paix, an international, universal and humanistic NGO which wanted to enlarge its field of operation. The beneficiaries of their schooling programs are first and foremost the children but also the teachers and educators. We worked together with them to bring the vision of symbol of peace created using grains, which is what the name of the organisation means in english.

FESTIVAL HELVETICA LOGO AND POSTER

10 years ago I got an amazing chance to work on this project for Film Festival in Switzerland. It was a great experience for a young graphic designer and it really meant a lot in my style development. Even though my designs have matured over years of working, and there is a huge distinction between my old and current work, this design remained something I am still proud to present next to my more professional designs.

Had a lot of fun creating this logo for a contest for Real Estate agent from Seatle, WA. My idea was to create a friendly logo with details that represent northwest of United States.

Throughout my career there was quite a few occasions where I needed to create typography designs, and it was always with a great pleasure that I did. There is just something about creating unique letters that no one ever created before, and that no one probably will again, that is very fulfilling.

THE FOUNDRY RADIO LOGO

One of the most exciting contests I participated in is definitely 100.7 The Foundry logo contest. Format of this radio station is Rock featuring bands like: Van Halen, Metallica, Megadeth, Cinderella, Scorpions, Skid Row, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Gun’s n Roses, Bon Jovi, Motely Crue.
The radio station was to target the listening of Men ages 18-49 with all the stuff that ROCKS! Iron Foundry is the main employer in the town. Targeting the Male Manufacturing Workers the make up 25% of the jobs in the area.

Even though this entry didn’t win the contest, this logo stayed with me as one of my favorites as it is in style I don’t usually make logos in.

ONE DELIVERY

One Delivery started as a brand identity project, but it ended up being much more.
This delivery company wanted to step away from being considered only food delivery company to being a company that delivers all kinds of goods.
Solution we came up with was to keep the circular shape, but change the icon from it being a fork into a shape that is number 1 turned on the side, so it represents arrow moving forward at the same time. After settling on the icon we decided the font should change into something bit more friendly and contemporary.

Since the company is run as a franchise, it had a lot of people advertising with graphics they made individually, and it made it look all over the place. We than decided to tie it all together and create brand identity and set of rules that would be used across all franchises.
We are still making graphics for the company today and it is one of the most fulfilling contracts we have.

Last year I decided to participate in a contest for a Chicken restaurant. When I read the brief for this contest, rough image of what I can do with this immediately appeared in my head and I knew I had to share this idea with the contest holder.

Unfortunately, this idea didn’t resonate with them, but it is still one of my favorite logos that never saw the light of day. At least now it is here for people to see.

THE PEACH RETREAT LOGO

Last year I decided to take on the challenge of participating in a contest for The Peach Retreat, a short term vacation rental property, AirBNB, located in historic Savannah, GA. They wanted to play up the “peach” in either a peach illustration or color and they wanted something fun and lively.

I ended up not wining the contest, but it was a great experience working on this through learning about Savanah, GA. It was also pretty exciting trying to fit peach shape in to a circle, while still having features of peach shape.

Brochure designs are a huge part of what we do at CABOdesign. Creating print ready designs with unique graphic elements is what we are proud of and what we strive to improve daily.

One of the things we did on a few occasions was to create a template for a brochure that client can then modify as needed, while keeping the format and maintaining printability.

While working with One Delivery, QTap, Air Pay and RushPay we were constantly challenged with making descriptive graphics for their websites and social media.

Flat illustrations were a go to solution a lot of times. It is beautiful simple kind of illustration which can do a great job of telling the story, or describing the process.

ISOMETRIC ILLUSTRATIONS

RushPay came to us with a challenge of explaining their process on their website, so that anybody can understand it. Writing how it works seemed boring, and using very simple icons didn’t look engaging enough.

We decided to go with one of my favorite types of illustrations – Isometry. It is amazing how isometric illustrations can use such simple shapes and still make the design look intricate and even 3D. It worked out beautifully and it is still used on their website to explain new users how it is done.

7 STAR CARDS LOGO DESIGN

This was a contest for a playing and trading cards company. It was one of those moments where the elements of the logo just fit together perfectly in a very simple way.

It ended up not being the winning entry, but I felt it just worked so good that it would be shame for it to sit inside a folder on my laptop.

Although I rarely accept jobs for t-shirt designs, it is a great passion of mine to create them for myself.

Some of these designs found their place in an Etsy store and did quite well.

Recently I had the opportunity to participate in a logo design contest for Washington DC based company Dark Circuit Labs.
It is an offensive cyber security company that provides the highest quality products and services to support the nation’s operational missions.

I loved the way circuit board lines worked creating the shape of Washington DC and bringing together the name and technology behind the company with the fact it is located in the capital city of the nation it is working to support.

It was an amazing opportunity to participate in a contest for an arts-based non-profit that creates programs, experiences and opportunities for artists to engage with cultural issues through their three core values; community, creativity and justice.

As a winner of this contest I got a chance to work on other projects under the umbrella of The Free Hand and see how amazing every single one of those projects is. Being an artist myself gave me such joy to be able to create these logos and graphics for these projects that will benefit so many other artists.

I was lucky enough to get a chance to participate in a contest for a logo for the central hub for contemporary art in Naples (Southwest Florida) and a catalyst for the appreciation and understanding for the art of our time.

This contest win started a continuing collaboration in creating rest of their brand identity.
